En-R-G Foods of Steamboat Springs, Colorado is made up of an entrepreneur, a honey industry veteran, a food products developer and a beekeeper who created Honey Stinger energy gels and bars. A few years ago, these four, armed with research touting honey as an excellent source of carbohydrate for athletes, combined their skills and experience and developed a natural, honey-based energy gel. Today, that product is available in specialty outdoor retail, natural foods, running and bike shops across the country. Honey Stinger is popular with athletes from all manner of sports and the company sponsors events, athletes and teams across the US.

Honey Stinger Founders

Bill Gamber Jr. is an outdoor industry entrepreneur, mountain sports athlete and Ironman-distance triathlete who has long used honey as fuel in races and training. When he’s not managing operations, Bill can be found running, climbing, cycling or skate-skiing with his wife, Lisa, and sons, Ben and Max.

William Gamber (Bill Sr.), is president of Dutch Gold Honey, a Pennsylvania-based honey packing company. A master angler, Bill Sr. can often be found thigh-deep in the Susquehanna.

Bob Stahl, a former Hershey Foods product executive, is an expert in the field of food development – and fly fishing. A chef as well as a scientist, Bob uses culinary vision, an experienced palate and a keen understanding of food chemistry to make Honey Stinger bars and gels delicious and nutritious.

John Miller, an avid marathoner, also runs Miller Honey Farms, a leading honey supplier. Also known as "the Bee Guy," John can often be spotted at trade shows explaining the inner workings of bee colonies with one of his many display hives.
